T – 21 Days till Alaska

Three months of solid training, planning and shopping are almost over.  Taper time starts next week with only short runs and light gym workouts on the agenda.  There is too much investment already in this trip to want to risk another injury.  On that note the knee feels almost 100%.  Since I saw the doc it feels much better leading me to wonder if I'd of waited would it still feel this good or was the mental unknown of the injury weighing on my mind more than I thought?  Either way I'm able to run without any issues.

The last aspect to finalize is the food and then actually pack the duffel bags.  The guest bedroom looks like REI right now with gear and clothing piled on the bed and floor.  Hopefully it will all fit once we have the three weeks of food divided up!  To make space we shipped the tents to Talkeetna last week.  Since we won't have the food on the return that won't be a problem.

I've never been to Alaska; a new spot to see on the globe makes this adventure even better!

Glad your knee is better and you're down to the final few weeks. Can't wait to see the photos and hear the stories afterwards!
